A Detroit clothing entrepreneur who donated T-shirts to frontline workers early on in the pandemic is back to help another group: LGBTQ+ individuals as they celebrate Pride in June.
Ty Davis of Detroit is the founder and CEO of Dare to be /Yer’self/, a clothing brand that focuses on encouraging others to be themselves.
“We live in a world where everyone is so scared to be, but if you dare to be, what more do you have to worry about?” said Davis, 28.
“You don’t have to worry about anything else because you are daring to be your true authentic self. I feel like a lot of times, people can be so judgmental and people put on such facades, but it’s like — I am me and if you don’t like it, it is what it is. I’m gonna keep on stepping and I’m going to look great while doing it.”
